Meroe was the heart of trading in the land of Kush. Kush's merchants received leopard skins and valuable woods from Africa as well as some ivory products. they traded with Arabia, India, China, and Rome. To get some of these items from these people, they gave cotton, textiles, and other goods. Kush's wealth from trading gave them good houses and public baths. Kush remained a good trading place for 600 years. Then a new place invaded Africa called Axum. They then came and took over the capital of Meroe and destroyed it. That was then the end of the Kushite people.
